Scribe Summer Camp Report

The troop has had a fantastic last two weeks, between our yearly stay at beautiful Forestburg Scout Reservation, as well as an expedition to Ten Mile River with a few scouts and Mr. Nastro. Much fun was had, many merit badges were earned, and advancement was achieved. At FSR, scouts of our troop once again proved that living in the woods comfortably was not only possible, but an enjoyable experience. Notable events included the Junior Leaders' unfortunate volley ball defeat, a successful crossing for most of the monkey bridge (key word MOST, not all), and the Camel Patrol's audience debut during the closing campfire. I'm sure I speak for all in saying that we can't wait to do it again next summer.

Also at TMR, there were plenty of interesting activities to keep our guys busy, as well as other badge classes. A softball game went better for some than others, in addition, hidden talents were revealed, for example Mr. Nastro showed his training in bear-speak. From what I'm told, it was similar to the FSR experience, but with some extra camping flare and a slightly different choice of things to do.

I would also like to extend my own and the troop's congratulations to our Senior Patrol Leader (SPL)-elect, Mahmoud K, as well as Andy G and Robert L, who will now join the ranks of the Junior Assistant Scoutmasters (JASMs). Their leadership will be a valuable asset to the growth of the troop. All in all, another troop summer comes to a close, as we anticipate September's first meeting. Thank you to all, dedicated scouts, and helpful adults.
