At the start of Forestburg, the troop hikes over to our summer camping site, onondaga. After getting there, the troop goes to take its swim test, and then proceeds to go on a tour of forest burg, which helps the newer scouts learn how to get around. The first day is usually very straight forward, but the rest of the week starts right after that.

During the week, for a chunk of the day, everything is the same. The troop gets up, sends people to go grub hustling, makes some breakfast, then goes out to their merit badge classes. After that, they go to back to the camp and make lunch. However, the afternoons are always different, and there is always something new to do every day. For instance, there is a junior leader and adult volleyball game (the adults won this year), the troop flag retirement ceremony, and the constant rank advancement. Theres also everyones favorite activity, wood collecting to build fires to cook food.

Once the bulk of the week is over, there is a final ceremony of the week, and the troop gets to go home. Many members of the troop love going to forest burg, as it is essentially a home away from home for many people. Forestburg 2018 was a success!

Forestburg scout reservation is basically the troops home during the summer. For one week, the troop goes to New York to earn merit badges, learn scout skills, and to go camping with their patrol. Many important events happen during that week, such as the election of the new senior patrol leader. One of the main events is the earning of merit badges, which helps the scouts achieve the rank of Eagle.
